Our Beginnings
SIGRID's journey began in 2014, founded by Sana Alajmovic and Prof. Tore Bengtsson. The company was built on a decade of groundbreaking metabolic research and a shared vision: to tackle modern-day lifestyle diseases at their core.
As part of Karolinska Innovations incubator Drive, SIGRID stands alongside Sweden's brightest life science startups, pioneering new solutions for metabolic health.
Since then, we have established global collaborations with leading institutions, including Stockholm University, Karolinska Institute, Monash University, and the University of Birmingham. Our work has been recognized worldwide, earning SIGRID a place on the prestigious Fierce 15 list of most promising private medtech companies.
